Riding Without Retinas was a feature article on Devyn Adams, an IEA rider that is legally blind. Her story drove the decision to create a lead-in page with a very blurred black and white photo of Devyn riding along with the article title in braille.

Early in 2016, IEA decided to stop printing and mailing their quarterly publication,
Take the Reins, to their more than 13,000 members. Project Needs
IEA wanted to have a visually appealling layout like a traditional print magazine, but that needed to be balanced with the reality that the magazine would now be primarily read on tablets, computers, and smartphones.

IEA was formed and organized to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction available to middle and secondary school students.
